Pre-flop Raising at an Aggressive Table

Common knowledge will tell you to make a pre-flop raise with that hand to scare out the small hands and fatten the pot, but that’s not always the right choice. Depending on your hand and the personality of the table you’re at, you need to consider a few things before you decide whether or not to raise before the flop.

At an aggressive table, you are unlikely to chase everyone out and gobble up pots like you would at a more passive table, and if your hand doesn’t hit on the flop, you are out of luck.
